What we welcome

Ideas may explore garment construction, materials, dress, care or fashion history. Strong proposals explain one central question, show what a reader will understand by the end and identify the details or sources needed to answer it. Comparisons and explainers are welcome when the distinction is meaningful.

A useful pitch

Send a concise summary, a working title, the intended reader and a note on the approach. If the idea depends on particular sources, images or expertise, say what they are and how they can be checked. Avoid broad trend roundups, unsupported claims and pitches that mainly promote a product or service.
